Creating these mockups demanded a variety of skills. Photographing them meant finding the right angle and following guiding principles. Capturing the image in the correct lighting conditions and without obstruction took time and planning.
The next task was tweaking the photograph in Lightroom to get the proper look while also keeping in mind that these files would be edited by others in the future so over editing them could devalue the asset.
Next I brought the file into photoshop and cleaned up the image of garbage, people and any other impurities without making the image unrealistic. Next I turned it from a image into a mockup using techniques I will highlight in a future article.
I wanted to create something that demanded multiple skillsets, all in which I have and enjoy doing. Mockups are something most designers use often to showcase there work, I want to continue to make more mockups and showcase my work exclusively on ones I have created.
